Leeds should recall Jamie Shackleton to allow Mateusz Klich rest
Leeds United host Aston Villa on Sunday in the Championship and their hopes for automatic promotion could be over by then.
The Whites have lost their last two consecutive games to slip to third and are now unlikely to finish in the top two.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are preparing to face a Villa side that have qualified for the play-offs and they could even be a potential opponent for Leeds at Wembley if they make it.
Leeds boss Bielsa should consider changes to his side even if they still have the opportunity to make automatic promotion.
One man that should be axed at the weekend is midfielder Mateusz Klich, who the Yorkshire giants must ensure doesn’t suffer with a burnout.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been an ever-present in the team this season, scoring eight goals and supplying eight assists in 46 games across all competitions.
He is an all-action central midfielder that always puts a shift in and has looked slightly jaded in recent weeks.

Klich should be given a rest for Villa with the play-offs potentially looming and replaced by youngster Jamie Shackleton.
Shackleton is a promising rising star that has come through the academy and has made 22 first-team appearances this campaign, with the majority coming from the bench.
The 19-year-old has slotted in at right-back regularly to provide cover, but his best position is in midfield and has the quality to slot in for Klich.
He has never looked out of place in the senior team and could add some much-needed energy that a dejected Leeds need to pick them up.
