Leeds should consider move for available Scott Sinclair
According to the , Celtic have rejected an approach from Preston to take Scott Sinclair on loan. The Hoops are open to moving the 30-year-old winger on. However, only on a permanent basis and if their £2.5 million valuation of the player is met.
Sinclair arrived at Celtic Park from Aston Villa in 2016. He has since enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the Scottish giants, winning the Premiership title in every season he has been with the club. He was in scintillating form in his first season with the Bhoys, racking up 25 goals and 11 assists. Since then, however, his form has gradually deteriorated.
He does not appear to figure heavily in Neil Lennon’s plans and could probably do with a fresh start. Plenty of Championship clubs ought to be interested in the Englishman, and Leeds United should consider making a move to secure his services, before Preston can return with another offer.
Marcelo Bielsa could do with adding some extra firepower to his squad this summer. Sinclair would bring additional goal threat to Elland Road, as well as bringing plenty of experience. As long as he is willing to work hard and adapt to Bielsa’s style, Sinclair could have a huge impact for the Whites.
What’s more, he represents a relatively affordable target for Leeds to pursue, and is certainly available on the market. If Bielsa could get Sinclair back to his goalscoring best, then it would take some pressure off of the likes of Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe to fire the club to promotion.
