Leeds should be relieved that Birmingham no longer have Che Adams

Leeds United host Birmingham City on Saturday in the Championship and will be looking to pick up some momentum after the international break.

The Whites sit fifth in the league table with 11 games played and are part of a group that will be eyeing the automatic promotion spots this campaign.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team are preparing to face Birmingham City at the weekend, who got the better of them twice last season.

The Yorkshire giants were beaten 2-1 at Elland Road and also lost 1-0 away to them back in April.

Leeds should be looking for revenge on them in the latest instalment between the team and they should feel positive that their opponents lost their talisman in the summer.

Che Adams joined Premier League side Southampton in the summer from Birmingham after an excellent season in the Championship last year.

The speed managed 22 league goals for a side that finished 17th in the table and he proved too hot for Leeds’ defence to handle.

He scored three goals in the two matches against Bielsa’s team and was such a dangerous threat to them.

Leeds won’t have to worry about a danger man this time around and Birmingham’s goals so far this season have mainly been spread around the team.

Leeds should be confident of securing three points at home against Birmingham despite last season’s results and do have the stronger side on paper.
