Leeds reportedly want Tottenham star that Rio Ferdinand claimed has ‘huge potential’
Leeds United are reportedly rivalling Brighton & Hove Albion in a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Ryan Sessegnon on loan before next Monday’s deadline – and Rio Ferdinand’s recent comments will have Whites fans excited.
Sessegnon, 20, is struggling for game time at Spurs after his £25million move to Spurs in the summer of 2019. He managed just 12 appearances in his first season, with injury and a lack of momentum preventing him from featuring more regularly.
This season, Sessegnon has only managed to appear on the bench once. He is yet to make his first outing of the campaign, and with the signings of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale, Sessegnon could now be allowed to leave on loan.
that Leeds and Brighton are both interested in signing the England Under-21 international, and ex-Leeds defender Ferdinand gave a glowing verdict of the winger following his goal against Bayern Munich last season.

“Huge potential. He’s a player England have pinned their hopes on, he’d have been highlighted coming through. He would have been so frustrated because he was a mainstay in the Fulham team, and then he’s picked up an injury.
“It’s been a stop start beginning to his Spurs career. There’s no doubting this kid has got potential. He’ll have opportunities to show what he’s capable of,” Ferdinand added, while talking to BT Sport – – back in December.
TBR’s view – Sessegnon pace and versatility suggests he is ideal for Bielsa
Marcelo Bielsa’s two-year tenure at Elland Road has shown that he likes plenty of pace on the flanks, and players in his squad that can play in numerous positions. It makes a player like Sessegnon the perfect addition.
Sessegnon adds cover at left-back – though the Whites are fully-stocked in that position – and a back-up for Jack Harrison. His raw pace and talent could reach new levels under Bielsa, but would he start? Probably not.
