Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani comments on Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has been quoted by of his admiration for Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho – as well as Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola.

Radrizzani, alongside chief executive and director of football Victor Orta, were the brains and driving force behind what is probably one of the most-important Leeds signings in history, getting Marcelo Bielsa to the club in 2018.

Since then, Leeds have re-established themselves as a top-flight Premier League club and sitting pretty in mid-table, next season the Argentine is expected to go again and push for European qualification. Radrizzani is an admirer.

Speaking at UEFA’s MIP event as per CalcioMercato, Radrizzani states that he admires Bielsa and Guardiola for their innovation as managers – as well as Mourinho and Conte for their leadership and their ability to inspire others.

“There is no leader who has particularly inspired me: I have more than one,” Radrizzani said. “Strictly on the pitch, Bielsa and Guardiola, who inspire through their football ideas.

“But I also admire the leadership of Mourinho or Conte because I like their way of inspiring while always staying focused on their goals,” Radrizzani added, who will be tasked with extending Bielsa’s contract in the near future.

With seven games left to play in the Premier League, Leeds boast an impressive 45 points already – more than enough to even consider the thought of a relegation battle. Looking upwards, the top half is a realistic aim.

Radrizzani deserves credit for the rise of Leeds since he took over, taking them from a mid-table Championship side into a mid-table Premier League club in the space of four years. The climb does not look set to end, either.
