Leeds now want to spend part of £25m Crysencio Summerville fee on teenage wonderkid
Leeds are now looking to spend some of the £25m Crysencio Summerville fee on one of the best young defensive talents in Germany.
With sadness still lingering around Elland Road from the £30m departure of Archie Gray to Tottenham, salt was rubbed in the wounds when West Ham sealed a £25m deal for Summerville.
Now – however – Leeds are looking to bring some positive news to Elland Road by spending a portion of this £55m income on a top talent…
Leeds want Bruno Ogbus
Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany has now revealed that Leeds want to sign Bruno Ogbus.
The SC Freiburg No.43 is also wanted by Nottingham Forest after impressing in the Bundesliga side’s youth ranks last season, helping them reach the DFB-Pokal der Junioren final with some colossal performances in the centre of defence.
Plettenburg adds that SC Freiburg are planning to keep Ogbus and have no intention of selling the Switzerland U19 international this summer.

However – in our view at least – Leeds could force the German outfit to change that stance, with £55m burning a hole in Daniel Farke’s pocket after the sales of Gray and Summerville.
Plettenburg also mentioned that AC Milan have seen a bid rejected for Ogbus, who is expected to be promoted into SC Freiburg’s first-team next season.
Leeds should not push SC Freiburg for too long
Transfer deadline day arrives at the end of this month, so it is imperative that Leeds do not waste much time pushing SC Freiburg to sell if they have no intention of doing so.
Time is of the essence for Farke to improve his squad and ensure a return to the Premier League materialises next summer, and that will be less likely if crucial hours are spent trying to sign an 18-year-old who is untested in senior football, as precocious a talent as Ogbus seems.

Furthermore, AC Milan are also in the running to sign the teenager, so if SC Freiburg are bullied into a sale, you would presume the Italian giants will be his first choice – seeing as they can offer UEFA Champions League football.

Nevertheless, be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Leeds continue to monitor Ogbus.
