Leeds need to make Berardi and Hernandez announcement before Sunday
While Leeds United feel like they are some way off reaching their ceiling under Marcelo Bielsa, Sunday’s clash with West Brom may well be the final run-out at Elland Road for some of the current squad.
Like every other team in the land, Leeds have players with question marks hanging over their futures. Some are out of contract. Others simply look to be playing too little to justify staying into next season.

Leeds fans are yet to really deal with one of their promotion heroes leaving the club. Ben White returned to his parent club last summer and Barry Douglas spent the year out on loan.
But that will surely change this summer.
As things stand, Gaetano Berardi is out of contract in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, that Pablo Hernandez’s deal ends next year.
Hernandez has been a peripheral figure for much of this season. So it would arguably not be a huge surprise if he did end up moving once this campaign concludes.

However, neither player – – deserves to go out without the fans knowing that they are saying are a final goodbye.
Of course, the players can expect an incredible reception from those lucky enough to attend Sunday’s clash with West Brom anyway.
But the Leeds fans would surely somehow find another gear if they knew that Berardi or Hernandez was representing the club for the final time.
So if they can, surely Leeds have to make an announcement concerning what the future holds for both Berardi and Hernandez before the Baggies’ visit this weekend.
It may be tricky, particularly with Hernandez. The Spaniard’s mind may not be made up about what the future holds. And much may depend on what offers come in for him.
It is not out of the question for Berardi meanwhile, to be handed a new contract. As a fifth-choice centre-back, he is arguably a fantastic option to have.
But if Leeds are aware behind the scenes that Berardi and Hernandez will be leaving, surely confirming the news ahead of time would be a wise idea to really ensure that the fans are able to give them the best send-off possible.
