Leeds made a £32m bid to sign ‘amazing’ striker this summer
Leeds United are back in the Premier League, and they’re not wasting any time in getting down to business in the transfer window.
Indeed, Lukas Nmecha is set to sign for Leeds upon the expiry of his contract at Wolfsburg, while Jaka Bijol looks set to sign for Leeds too.
On top of that, Leeds have been linked with Tomas Soucek, while Manor Solomon could return to Elland Road at some point.
Meanwhile, Leeds also need a striker. Joel Piroe was decent at Championship level but there are some clear flaws in his game.
The Whites have their eyes on a few centre-forward options, and according to , the Yorkshire club made a big-money bid for one of their Premier League rivals’ star men.

Leeds bid £32m for Rodrigo Muniz
According to The Athletic, Leeds United made a £32m bid for Rodrigo Muniz earlier in this summer transfer window.
The bid was made up of a £26m fee and £6m worth of add-ons.
Frustratingly, Leeds’ offer for Muniz was rejected, and now sources at Elland Road believe other targets are more attainable.
Muniz had a decent season for Fulham last term, as the stats show.

Games | 31 |
Goals | 8 |
Assists | 1 |
Tottenham have previously been keen on Muniz, and, via , Muniz has been called ‘amazing’ in the past.
Leeds’ record signings
A £32m bid for Muniz is a real statement of intent from Leeds, and if this deal were to go through, the Brazilian would be one of the Whites’ all-time record signings.
Leeds clearly have cash to spend this summer, and Muniz would be up there as one of the club’s record transfers if he were to come in.
Leeds record signings | Fee |
Georginio Rutter | £35m |
Brendan Aaronson | £29m |
Rodrigo | £27m |
Dan James | £25m |
Rio Ferdinand | £18m |
At the moment, a move for Muniz does look unlikely, but the fact that Leeds are bidding big money so early on does suggest that there could be some exciting arrivals through the door at Elland Road for too long.
Muniz may not be the answer, but don’t be shocked if an exciting new number nine heads to Leeds soon.
