Leeds-linked Michy Batshuayi reportedly offered to Benfica after Cavani talks break down
Whatever happens involving Leeds United this summer, few supporters are likely to forget the bizarre links with Edinson Cavani for some time.
Andrea Radrizzani certainly did his bit to whet the appetite by suggesting, , that the door may be open for an approach for Cavani.

Despite his comments, most Leeds fans would have probably refused to believe that there was any chance of a move. Nevertheless, it appeared to be a huge statement of intent to even suggest that he may be on the radar.
Unfortunately for those supporters who did hope to see Cavani end up at Elland Road, it appeared that Marcelo Bielsa’s side were going to miss out to Benfica.
However, that Cavani’s potential move to the Portuguese side had collapsed over his £345,000-a-week wage demands.
Those demands clearly keep Leeds out of the race. But there may be a further knock-on effect for the Whites, on who Benfica could now target after giving up on Cavani.

, they have been offered Michy Batshuayi. And while it is not clear whether he will be a player who interests them, it is noted that he was previously on their radar in 2013.
They are not the only club to have reportedly been offered Batshuayi this summer.
that Leeds have been told about the Belgian’s availability. The report suggested that the Whites were weighing up whether to offer £22.6 million for the striker.
So while Leeds fans may not have believed that they were in a battle with Benfica for Cavani’s signature, perhaps it is a little more likely that the Uruguayan’s move falling through has opened the door for the two sides to be amongst those involved in the race to sign Batshuayi.
