Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Leeds United have told Jesse Marsch that they will explore the possibility of signing Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves.

There are less than two days left in the transfer window and the Whites are on the market for a new striker. Leeds have been linked with a number of players, but Jones has revealed that Marsch wants Hwang, a forward who was .

Leeds have told Marsch that they will try to sign Hwang

Numerous reports over the summer have linked Leeds with a move for Hwang, who was absolutely outstanding under Marsch when they were together at RB Salzburg.

Earlier this week, a report claimed that the Whites could sell Dan James to Tottenham Hotspur to fund a move for the South Korean, who is set to cost just £15 million this summer.

With Rodrigo suffering a painful injury last night and with Bamford having his fair share of problems over the last year, Leeds have to bring in a new striker before Thursday’s deadline, and Hwang could well be the man.

Jones claims that the Leeds board have directly told Marsch that they will explore if a deal can be struck with Wolves to sign Hwang in this window.

He told : “It’s not easy, but it’s clear Marsch wants him (Hwang).

“The club have told Marsch that they would look into it and see if he is attainable now.”

Having scored just five goals in 36 games at Wolves, it’s easy to forget Hwang’s quality. One man who knows just how good he is, however, is Marsch, who got him firing at Salzburg not too long ago.

Under the current Leeds boss in Austria, Hwang played 43 games, scored 16 goals and provided an incredible 24 assists. That is a truly sensational record.

It is no shock at all that Marsch wants Hwang at Leeds, and the could open the door for the South Korean to make his move to Elland Road.

However, with the transfer window shutting in less than 36 hours, Leeds will have to be quick if they want to get their man.
