Leeds have got to sign Tottenham player Paul Robinson expects to leave – TBR View
Paul Robinson has stated that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to sell England international Harry Winks this summer as the midfielder struggles to get regular game time – and Leeds United have got to take advantage.
Winks, 25, has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs this season – with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg being preferred in defensive midfield by Jose Mourinho. Tanguy Ndombele is used alongside him, with Moussa Sissoko on the bench.
Interim manager Ryan Mason, who replaced Mourinho after the Portuguese man’s sacking on Monday, did give Winks a run out – albeit from the bench against Southampton on Wednesday as Spurs came from behind to win 2-1.
Winks had previously featured in just one of the prior 13 league games and Robinson told Sky Sports News on Thursday that while he may enjoy a resurgence under Mason – he is likely to leave Tottenham in the coming months.

Leeds, meanwhile, need midfield cover. Kalvin Phillips would certainly start ahead of Winks in defensive midfield, but the Whites need cover for the England midfielder – as well as another option ahead of Phillips.
Winks, who has a contract at Spurs until the summer of 2024 worth £50,000 a week (), has been linked with moves to some Premier League clubs – but more recently, Spanish sides given his ball-playing style.
But that would certainly fit in at Elland Road, as would his work rate and tenacity in the middle of the park. Following on from Robinson’s claim, Leeds really need to consider a move for Winks if he becomes available.
