Leeds United are currently being linked with Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay, a player they’ve reportedly been eyeing for a “long time”.
The Whites allowed Luke Ayling and Djed Spence to leave this month, so they could do with bringing in some defensive reinforcements.
According to Ramsay is one of the players being eyed by Leeds right now.
The report says that Liverpool should make a decision on the 20-year-old’s future soon and that the Whites are among those monitoring proceedings.
Leeds know Calvin Ramsay “inside out”
Phil Hay, speaking on , provided more information on Leeds’ interest in the Liverpool full-back.
“You’ll have seen Calvin Ramsay linked at Liverpool,” the journalist for The Athletic said.
“He’s been on Leeds’ radar for a long time, actually going back to the previous regime. He was one of the players that [Victor] Orta scouted when he was at Aberdeen.
“Leeds were pretty close to getting him actually. He would have been an academy signing I think more than anything, an under-21s signing initially, but he was certainly on that borderline of pushing through.
“Leeds know about Ramsay inside out. He was at Preston but didn’t get much in the way of games at Preston so was recalled.
“And like with Carvalho going to Hull I think that with these players Liverpool are very, very set on them going to places where they are going to be in the team.
“I suppose Gray getting injured, we don’t know how serious that is, creates an issue at right-back.
“But it is a definite problem in terms of recruitment that if you’re on the outside looking in you’re not quite sure where in this team you’re going to get into it.”
Calvin Ramsay a good shout for Leeds United
Ramsay joined Liverpool from Scottish outfit Aberdeen back in 2022 for an .
Sadly, the young defender has had to deal with several injury and fitness issues, and has made just two Liverpool appearances to date.
Ramsay has also not had great luck out on loan. He linked up with Preston but was recalled after making just two appearances in the first half of the season.
