Leeds fans split over reported interest in Everton midfielder Fabian Delph
Leeds United are reportedly interested in a deal for Everton midfielder Fabian Delph – and the speculation has received a mixed response from some of the club’s supporters on social media.
The reports that Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is keen on signing the 30-year-old, as well as looking at Tottenham’s Danny Rose to try inject some top-flight experience to his squad ahead of next season.
It is claimed that the Whites are ‘confident’ of securing a deal for Delph, who started his senior career at Elland Road after rising through the academy.
The report explains that the Everton enforcer is likely to cost around £5million, which seems a bargain for a two-time Premier League winner.
Delph has seen his form dip since joining Everton last summer, but was an important squad player at the Etihad Stadium for Man City and has made 20 senior international caps for England.
He is a left-footed central midfielder renowned for his aggressive approach in tackling, plus he’s a strong passer of the ball too and has leadership qualities.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media feel his experience would be welcomed next season in the Premier League, while others have suggested the club should stay clear of their ex-player.
Bielsa has a young group of players that could take the Premier League by storm next season with their energy, but there is a lack of top-flight know-how.
Here are some Leeds fans discussing Delph:
Can’t say I’ve watched a lot of Fabian Delph this season and he wouldn’t be anywhere near my list of players we should be signing. For those that want him, the fact that their fans are delighted about the idea of us signing him should be major alarm bells.

I think that’s mainly because he has been injured and said congrats to Liverpool on Instagram. Experienced, good pro who loves the club? Even if he only plays 10-15 games, he’d be good to have around. Rose, under Bielsa, could be great. Don’t expect us to sign either though.

I’d have him in a heartbeat but only if Bielsa is our manager as I think he’d turn him into a top class player. He has bags of talent and an incredible engine. He’s a bit lost and we could get him back on track. I also totally get the arguments against though

It would have to be on seriously good terms for it to make any sense. As good as Delph was, and perhaps could have been without the injuries, I doubt his body would stand up to a Bielsa training regimen.

Can see the benefit as an extra body at dm/cm and lb, also a big personality in the dressing room. He’s good depth but he isn’t who id sign especially to start

All this negativity from Leeds fans about potentially signing Delph and rose i personally think would be a good move for both parties we dont have much experience in are young side and under bielsa could be a real threat.

Transfer rumours (1). Do I like Delph as a footballer, yes. Do I think he would fit in with a Bielsa regime? Maybe. Do I think we can afford his wages? No and even if we could I wouldn’t want us to.

Agree no point going backwards.
