Leeds fans respond to Leif Davis’s tweet after QPR win

Leif Davis may have only made six league appearances for Leeds United, but he may already be getting used to being involved in mad rushes before he comes onto the field.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut at Aston Villa last season after Barry Douglas was taken ill in the warm-up. And his introduction against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday seemed to be delayed after he put on Mateusz Bogusz’s shirt instead of his own.

But on both occasions, Davis has emerged from the games with the fans singing his praises. He received plenty of plaudits after his first-team bow at Villa, and it seems that the supporters were just as impressed by his 10-minute cameo against QPR.

He looked dangerous going forward. Marcelo Bielsa’s unconventional formation may have perhaps helped the teenager as he seemed to have the freedom of the entire left flank.

His pace caused problems, and he appears to have staked a claim for more game-time with Douglas and Gjanni Alioski missing the game through injury.

And when Davis took to social media to comment on the win, he was lauded by a large number of supporters. Of course, many took the opportunity to echo Bielsa’s now-famous words to the left-back during the pre-season clash with Cagliari.

It is, in fairness, a very fitting assessment of his cameo. But there were many also lauding Davis for the excitement that he generated when he came on.

Here is Davis’s tweet after the game, as well as some of the responses…
