Leeds fans react to translator Lamrani’s left-field tweet about Izzy Brown
When Leeds United were rampaging to the top of the Championship in the winter months, the fear was always that burnout would set in.
After all, Marcelo Bielsa’s style of football is so physically demanding and Leeds have a small squad, largely made up of the same players who limped to a mid-table finish last season.
And the way they let the automatic promotion race get away with them with a limp surrender over Easter only feeds the theory that they’ve hit the wall at the worst possible time.
This writer doesn’t quite believe that’s the case – it’s easy for people to fit the results to their own narrative and it’s actually more accurate that Leeds simply haven’t been clinical in front of goal during the closing weeks of the campaign.

But injuries have started to accumulate ahead of tomorrow’s play-off semi-final first leg against Derby, with the absence of Tyler Roberts the biggest miss in terms of goal threat.
And that’s what makes a tweet by Salim Lamrani, Bielsa’s trusty translator, so intriguing. He – seemingly out of nowhere – has tweeted about Izzy ‘The Sniper’ Brown, who has not made much of an impact at Elland Road due to injury.
But he has been firing in the goals for the under-23 side when he’s played, and many Leeds fans think the tweet means that Bielsa is about to unleash Brown on Derby…
Replaces Roberts in starting 11 and bags hat trick. Some season that would be

Izzy’s role this season was to get the U23 over the line, now he turns his prowess to getting the first team over the line!
