Leeds fans react to Ryan Edmondson display in Under-23s victory

Ryan Edmondson completed 90 minutes for Leeds United’s Under-23s side on Friday – and some of the club’s supporters have called him for him to get a first-team chance.

The centre-forward scored for the young Whites team in a narrow 2-1 win against Sheffield United at Thorp Arch.

His high press saw him capitalise on a defensive mistake early in the second-half and gave him an easy finish from close-range.

The 18-year-old has been a goal machine at youth level and shown he’s got natural instincts in front of goal, which is why many want to see more of him at Elland Road.

Edmondson has made two first-team appearances for the Yorkshire club, but they were back in 2018 and he’s not been included in a senior match day squad so far this season.

The striker has to keep trying to impress at youth level and hope he manages to catch the eye of senior boss Marcelo Bielsa, who has shown he’s willing to put faith in promising young talents.

He’s scored in back-to-back games in the Professional Development League and supporters are certainly aware of him.
