Leeds fans react to Marcelo Bielsa’s Kiko Casilla comment
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to what Marcelo Bielsa said about Kiko Casilla on Monday night following the Whites’ defeat to West Ham – .
Casilla remains a divisive figure at Elland Road. There have been times when a handful of fans have asked for the Spaniard to get a chance when Illan Meslier has made mistakes.

However, it does appear that the large majority of supporters would rather not see the 34-year-old play for the club again.
He never managed to silence all of his doubters while he was number one. And most significantly, he served an eight-match ban for racially abusing Jonathan Leko last season (via ).
He has not regained the first-choice spot since returning from the ban. But he has been a regular fixture on the bench, stepping in for a couple of games earlier this season when Meslier was ill.

However, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper was nowhere to be seen on Monday as Leeds travelled to West Ham. Elia Caprile was named on the bench.
And following the game, Bielsa suggested that Casilla was available.
“Casilla today was a decision that I made to include Caprile on the bench and Casilla is not injured,” he said, .
‘Starting to phase Casilla out’
It remains to be seen if the Italian will keep his place moving forwards. For plenty of fans, Bielsa’s comments have raised doubts over Casilla’s future.
Some have suggested that they could now see him leave in the summer. And it does not appear that many fans would have a problem if his exit was indeed on the cards.
He is on a big wage. And understandably, paying that wage makes little sense if he is now going to be third choice at Elland Road.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans reacted to what Bielsa said…
Interesting. Kiko will be moved on in the summer.

Casilla is unlikely to play for the first team again unless Meslier is injured so might as well give Caprile some experience with the first team squad

Caprile has improved a lot in the last few months. Good to see it paying off.

Caprile has been excellent in the 23s lately. But dropping Casilla is a decision that could have been made months ago…

The smallest of silver linings to finally see Casilla not on the bench, few more wins would finish off the season nicely. I think we’d have all taken 12th at the start of the season!

Starting the phase Casilla out. Interesting..

Kiko now 3rd choice. Definitely has to leave in the summer.
