A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the future of Ian Poveda amid that he could leave on loan.
Poveda has had a mixed time at Elland Road. After arriving in January 2020, he was rarely seen until Marcelo Bielsa’s side secured promotion.

He actually went on to make 14 appearances from the bench in the Premier League last season. And the 21-year-old showed glimpses of his potential at times.
However, it now seems that he could be set for a spell away from the Whites.
that Poveda could leave on loan. It comes after he played no part for the first-team or under-23s in their opening games of the campaign.

Heading out on loan under Bielsa can often be an ominous sign. No player sent out last year appears to have returned in a better position in the squad.
But for many, Poveda needs a loan. He needs to play regularly and show what he can really do. He also needs to perfect his game so he can develop into a real game-changer.
Questions will be asked about Poveda’s future further down the line if he is loaned out. But several fans clearly feel that it is a necessary roll of the dice.
‘Would be a win-win’: Leeds fans react to Poveda loan reports
With that in mind, here is how some of the Leeds fans have reacted to the reports…
A loan would be best for Poveda. He needs to be starting games week in week out for his development

Would be a win-win for all to see Poveda head out on loan. Gives himself a chance to prove himself at first team level and toughen up his game. A loan to the Championship could do. wonders for him. There is clearly talent there, just needs a chance to show that consistently.

Not surprised about Poveda, whether it’s been a falling out or Bielsa just doesn’t fancy him. He’s not good enough.

I love Poveda, always having a laugh, always mucking about.. But you’re in the premier now son, and do you have it in you to stop messing about and reach your full potential? Needs to grow up.. Still young, get him out on loan in the championship.

I feel like people really underrate poveda, he has holes but definitely at the championship level if not higher. He is legitimately better than costa as well so for me id like to see him in a league where hell be going against more low blocks and tight defenses to improve

A loan move would make more sense for Poveda he needs to be playing week in & week out + it will give him more experience as well.

Regardless of whether Poveda has fallen out with Leeds, a loan/permanent deal would do him good and if Summerville’s form is anything to go by he’s down the pecking order now anyway.
