Leeds fans react to Gjanni Alioski post on Twitter

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to the post from Gjanni Alioski in which he posted a photo of himself alongside Illan Meslier, having been reunited with his old teammate in North Macedonia.

Alioski is one player that Leeds have arguably missed this season. He ended last term in superb form at left-back.

However, he left Elland Road at the end of his contract. Leeds signed Junior Firpo. Meanwhile, Alioski ended up at Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Junior is yet to really find his feet in Yorkshire. And just as his performances started to improve, he sustained an injury that has ruled him out for several weeks.

Alioski’s departure does appear to have hurt Leeds. So it is little surprise that plenty of fans have felt a little emotional following his latest post on Twitter.

Alioski helped North Macedonia book a play-off spot on Sunday as they look to secure their place at next year’s World Cup. The wide-man scored in the 3-1 win over Iceland.

Another player in the country over the weekend turned out to be Meslier. France’s under-21s face North Macedonia on Tuesday.

And with their paths crossing, Alioski posted a photo of the pair together on social media.

Unsurprisingly, the photo prompted a strong reaction amongst some on social media.

Several suggested that they wished Alioski was still within the Leeds ranks. Others insisted that it was exactly what they needed to see with Alioski such a cult-hero at Elland Road.
