Leeds fans react on Twitter to stunning Alfie McCalmont volley
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to laud Alfie McCalmont after the youngster scored a screamer out on loan on Tuesday.
McCalmont has not always had the easiest time since arriving at Oldham in the summer. There was a spell from late October when he seemingly could not get in the team at Boundary Park for several weeks.

However, he has been outstanding in recent times. He scored his second goal in his last three games this week. And the winner against Exeter City was quite something.
The goal came 10 minutes into the second-half with the Northern Irishman lurking on the edge of the box at a corner.

The ball was headed out to him. But rather than take a touch and steady himself, McCalmont proceeded to hit a first-time volley with the inside of his foot.
The ball dipped down until it hit the underside of the bar, coming down over the goalline in a manner that may have reminded Leeds fans of Tony Yeboah’s famous thunderbolt against Wimbledon, as well as his volley against Liverpool.
It was a remarkable hit from McCalmont. It was a controlled finish that arguably highlighted why he is on the books at Elland Road.
The hopes have been high for McCalmont throughout his time at Leeds. So it is no surprise that many of the fans have lauded the 20-year-old ahead of his return in the summer.
Here is what some of the Leeds fans supporters were saying about McCalmont’s goal…
