Leeds fans react on Twitter to Robin Koch’s display at Brighton
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Robin Koch’s display in the Whites’ defeat to Brighton on Saturday.
The trip to the AMEX proved to be a frustrating one for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Goals in either half gave Graham Potter’s men the three points.

Leeds struggled to lay a glove on the home side. But there were a handful of more impressive performances on show from the visitors.
Koch was tasked with filling in for Kalvin Phillips in holding midfield. It was the Germany international’s first start since sustaining an injury back in December.

And while it proved to be a hugely disappointing afternoon, Koch arguably showed that he is more than good enough to replace Phillips when the Englishman is unavailable.
, Koch won five tackles – more than any other player on the pitch. He also won four aerial duels, made three clearances and two interceptions.
‘Actually thought Koch played well’
There were moments when Koch – who earns around £46,000-a-week, – did seem to struggle. But given the circumstances surrounding him coming into the side, it is little surprise that he was praised by many.
In fact, many of the supporters felt that he was Leeds’s best player on the day. Admittedly, there was a lack of competition, but it does seem that he was a shining light.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans reacted to Koch’s display…
Actually thought Koch played well

Phillips not playing wasn’t the reason we lost today, Koch played well, everybody in front of him and Alioski included didn’t

On a weekend when football clubs and pundits are boycotting social media to halt online abuse perhaps we could talk about good things some players did rather than the bad. Personally felt Koch was pretty impressive in that Phillips role. :)

I thought koch was probably our best player

A bad team performance but Robin Koch back fit and had a good game despite defeat👏
— Ruben Nygård (@ruben_nygard)
Pretty poor performance all round today, not enough quality going forward at all, Brighton very much remain a bogey team😂 Koch was very good filling in for Phillips👏

Koch was our best player today. He didn’t put a foot wrong. I don’t think it was Phillips we missed, it was Raphinha. We were toothless in attack.
