Leeds fans react on Twitter to Joe Gelhardt display at Tottenham
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Joe Gelhardt after the youngster made his full Premier League debut in the clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side suffered an agonising defeat in North London. Two second-half goals from the home side saw Antonio Conte’s men claim the three points.
The most disappointing thing for Leeds was that that turnaround came about after the Whites had produced a stunning performance in the first-half.
And they were rewarded just before the break with Dan James tapping home a superb Jack Harrison cross.
Leeds were outstanding at times. And one of their best performers was Gelhardt who led the line in the absence of Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo.
Whites fans have had a glimpse of what Gelhardt can do for the first-team. It was his brilliant run that earned Leeds a penalty against Wolves last month.
And he further proved why he appears to be destined for a very bright future.
Gelhardt gave an excellent account of himself in the duels with Eric Dier and Ben Davies. And there were some delightful touches along the way.

He also tested Hugo Lloris on two occasions during the second-half. Certainly, he clearly does not lack confidence or bravery on the ball.
It was a huge blow for the Whites to be without Raphinha and Rodrigo for Sunday’s game. But Gelhardt proved to be a shining light on an encouraging but ultimately difficult day for Leeds.
