Leeds fans react on Twitter to Jamie Shackleton display vs Burnley

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jamie Shackleton after the youngster produced a superb cameo in the draw with Burnley on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are still waiting for their first win of the campaign as a late goal from Patrick Bamford earned them a point at Turf Moor.

It looked set to be a disappointing afternoon for the Whites. They played some nice football at times, but rarely looked like scoring until Bamford flicked home.

Burnley had made a period of dominance at the start of the second-half count, with Chris Wood scoring the opener on the hour-mark.

Some supporters were left baffled when Bielsa decided shortly after Wood’s goal to replace Diego Llorente with Shackleton.

Llorente had arguably been the Whites’ best defender before the change. But the Spaniard is coming back from injury.

And Shackleton went on to vindicate the decision with a really impressive showing.

It was the 21-year-old who provided the assist for the equaliser as his effort found Bamford at the far post.

It has not been the easiest time for Shackleton. He is still trying to find his way in the side and secure his strongest position.

But he linked up well with Raphinha at times. And while it did not always go to plan, it must be remembered that Burnley are incredibly solid when they have a result to defend.
