Leeds fans react on Twitter to Diego Llorente’s display at Manchester City
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Diego Llorente following the centre-back’s display against Manchester City on Saturday.
Had Whites supporters been asked what they made of Llorente following Leeds’s win at Newcastle in January, they would have been forgiven for starting to write him off.

The Spaniard endured a torrid first few months at Elland Road. His first two appearances for the club came six weeks apart after a couple of months on the sidelines due to injury.
But since returning in late February, Llorente has been colossal for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. And his best display yet came this weekend as Leeds stunned Manchester City.

The 2-1 win confirmed that Leeds will still be in the top flight next year. And the victory was all the more impressive given that the visitors had Liam Cooper sent off shortly before the break.
Pascal Struijk came on immediately. And Robin Koch joined him and Llorente in the backline after the interval. The trio were outstanding to largely keep City at bay.
‘Magnificent’
But for many, Llorente was the star of the show from a defensive perspective. Of course, Dallas deserves every plaudit coming his way for the incredible brace.
But Llorente has now followed so many of his teammates in coming back from being written off and proving himself as an amazing player at the very highest level.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Whites fans reacted to Llorente’s performance…

Llorente was a Goliath today, chasing Jesus all over the pitch and then still being able to slot back into the back four and hold his shape. Breakout performance from him imo, what a player we managed to snag

With all the madness of that game, I feel like it’s gone under the radar how brilliant Llorente was.
