Leeds fans react as Whites reportedly look to strike £4.25m Serie A bargain

Leeds United are reportedly interested in a surprise move to bring Sampdoria midfielder Ronaldo Vieira back to Elland Road. The Whites sold him to the Serie A side in 2018, and fans have responded to the reports.

Vieira, 23, has endured a very difficult spell in Italian football since swapping Leeds for Sampdoria. In three and a half years at Sampdoria, he has played just 44 times – with a knee injury preventing him from playing since March.

Indeed, the England Under-21 man was even loaned out to Hellas Verona – playing only five times. The knee injury has hampered his progress, ultimately preventing him from a move to Sheffield United in the summer.

Now, that Leeds are interested in bringing Vieira back to Elland Road. It is believed that Andrea Radrizzani is ‘trying to convince’ him, with Marcelo Bielsa ‘not happy’ at his sale in 2018.

What are Leeds fans saying as Whites eye shock Vieira move?

The report states that Leeds could get Vieira for a bargain £4.25million – a much smaller fee than the £7.7million figure that changed hands three years ago. A potential masterstroke for Leeds, then.

Leeds do need midfield reinforcements. Even with Mateusz Klich, Kalvin Phillips, Adam Forshaw and Stuart Dallas all fit – the Whites lack a bit of cover. Dallas is covering in defence, and Forshaw is still returning back to his best.

Leeds need a midfielder and at £4.25million, Vieira could be a low-risk addition, even given his injury issues. Many Leeds fans would love to see him back in Yorkshire.
