Leeds fans react as Pontus Jansson posts on Twitter following Brentford comeback

Brentford kept up the pressure on both Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion by leaving it late to beat Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic – and Leeds fans have responded to Pontus Jansson’s post on Twitter.

Charlton and Bowyer had given Leeds supporters hope that they could have a chance of extending the gap between themselves and Thomas Frank’s side, as the Addicks took the lead in the eighth minute.

Macauley Bonne nodded home ahead of David Raya to give Charlton an early lead, but Brentford scored two late goals to turn the match on its head. Firstly, Said Benrahma netted from the penalty spot.

Then, Ethan Pinnock headed home an 85th-minute winner. It sees Brentford breathing down the neck of West Brom, and continue to claw back league leaders Leeds. Jansson posted on Twitter after the match.

The win sees Brentford close the gap to two points behind West Brom, and three behind Leeds – with West Brom facing Derby on Wednesday night and Leeds taking on Stoke City on Thursday evening.

Leeds fans responded to Jansson – who remains a fan favourite at Elland Road after 120 appearances in three seasons for the Whites before leaving for Brentford last summer – and many have applauded the £5.5million defender
