Leeds fans react as club linked with Boca Juniors star Nahitan Nandez
Leeds United are reportedly looking to beat three top-tier Italian sides to the signature of Uruguay World Cup star Nahitan Nandez this summer – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter.
Leeds are rivalling Fiorentina, Cagliari and Sampdoria for the 20-time Uruguay international’s signature. Cagliari are said to be winning the race.
It is believed that Boca are in talks over a new contract for Nandez, but nothing has been signed. His current deal has just over 12 months left to run, expiring in the summer of 2020.

Known for his speed in the middle of the park and excellent dribbling, Nandez is your typical pocket-sized South American midfield hothead. However, he also boasts flair and vision – similar to Arsenal’s Uruguayan star Lucas Torreira.
Nandez is not the only central midfielder Leeds have been linked with in recent weeks. The Yorkshire club are also said to be interested in Athletic Bilbao star Ander Iturraspe and PSV Eindhoven youngster Justin Lonwijk.
Leeds fans reacted on Twitter to the news that their club were interested in Nandez, and some were excited but understood that only promotion would see him move to Elland Road. Others were not so optimistic.
