Leeds fans react as Andrea Radrizzani responds to fan when asked about signing a midfielder before Tuesday

Andrea Radrizzani has responded to a Leeds fan when asked if the club will sign a midfielder before Tuesday – and fans are frustrated by his reply.

Leeds have been linked with a signing a midfielder for the entirety of the summer window. But ultimately, the Whites have been somewhat quiet.

Huddersfield’s Lewis O’Brien was strongly linked with a £7million move, while Conor Gallagher even had a medical – before joining Palace.

It seems, with just a few days left in the window, that Leeds fans might have to contend with what they have – only Junior Firpo adding to the starting XI.

Asked by a fan if Leeds will return to the market for a midfielder, Andrea Radrizzani responded with a two-word Tweet. He named Adam Forshaw.

Forshaw boost: But Leeds fans are frustrated with Radrizzani Tweet

Leeds finished in a lofty ninth position last season and while the Premier League novelty might have worn off – fans are hoping their side pushes on.

Another mid-table finish would obviously be a success for Leeds but some expectant fans will be hoping that the Whites can go one better than ninth.

If they were to do so, then money had to be spent. That has not happened, with Firpo, and a permanent Jack Harrison deal the bulk of the spending.

Kristoffer Klaesson has replaced Kiko Casilla as the club’s second choice goalkeeper. Lewis Bate, Amari Miller and Sean McGurk are U23 signings.

Perhaps understandably, Leeds fans are frustrated – especially with a need for a midfielder large. It is a boost for Forshaw, but fans wanted more.
