Leeds fans react as a new report emerges, suggesting a boost in pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez
Leeds United have been repeatedly linked with a move to sign Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, over the past 12 months. Now, a new report says the Whites are pushing hard to land the Uruguay international – more so than any of their Italian rivals. It has prompted reaction from Leeds fans, urging their club to sign Nandez.
Nandez, 25, is sparkling in the top tier of Italian football. Having swapped Boca Juniors for Cagliari in the summer of 2019, Nandez now boasts 72 appearances for the Serie A side to his name. He is quickly becoming regarded as one of the division’s best midfielders outside the top six.
Little surprise, then, that Leeds are interested. A report from says Leeds are showing more interest in Nandez than any other interested clubs – mostly from Italy. It is believed that Leeds would have to spend around £26million to sign him ().

Nandez is much-needed at Leeds this summer…
Leeds need a left-back, a goalkeeper and potentially a number 10. But what they also need is cover for Kalvin Phillips – having just won two of nine games and losing the other seven without him. They could also do with a player to take the work load off Stuart Dallas and Mateusz Klich.
So, if Leeds need a holding midfielder, surely it makes sense to bring one in that can play as both a four and a six. That way, they will be happy to act as Phillips cover, as they will still get game time in a different position. Nandez can do both roles. At £26million, he is expensive, but improves Leeds.
Leeds fans reacted to the reports that they are leading the race to sign Nandez this summer – and many are keen to see a deal go through.
