Leeds fans message Izzy Brown on Twitter, some want him back next season

The signing of Izzy Brown brought enormous optimism to Elland Road when he first signed for Leeds United on loan from Chelsea, but fast forward a year and just two substitute appearances, he has certainly flopped.

The 22-year-old has previously impressed at Brighton and Huddersfield, and Leeds fans felt that when he finally returned from his a year-long knee injury, he would inspire Leeds to promotion in the second half of the season.

As it turns out, Brown managed only his second appearance for Leeds’ first team on Wednesday night, with the Whites finally losing 4-3 on aggregate to Derby County despite having home advantage in the second leg.

Brown has flopped, but to be fair to the Chelsea loanee, he has suffered niggles since his knee injury – which itself took longer than first thought to get over. He apologised to Leeds fans on Twitter after the loss to Derby.

Despite injuries to the likes of Gjanni Alioski, Tyler Roberts, Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford, Brown was continuously overlooked by Marcelo Bielsa and it remains to be seen if there was another reason for that.

But Leeds fans still see Brown in a positive light and many replied to his Tweet, hoping that he will join the Whites this summer again in a bid to gain promotion – 16 years after first being relegated from the Premier League.

It remains to be seen if Leeds want to go back in for Brown, who is earning £25,000 a week contract at Chelsea,
