Leeds fans discuss Pablo Hernandez performance after Crawley defeat

Leeds United suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to League Two side Crawley Town on Sunday afternoon despite fielding a strong side – and supporters have discussed the performance of veteran player Pablo Hernandez.

The Whites came into the match having picked up six points from their last possible nine in the Premier League, beating Burnley and West Brom but losing to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham. They fielded a strong side.

With Marcelo Bielsa fully aware of the club’s awful record in recent years when it comes to cup competitions, he fielded a side that included Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Rodrigo, Helder Costa and Hernandez.

The scoreline read 0-0 at half-time and Bielsa chose to bring on some young guns, in the form of Oliver Casey and Jack Jenkins. It seemed to do the trick – for Crawley, who sprung the result of the round with a 3-0 win.

Hernandez, 35, lasted the entire 90 minutes – playing in central midfield. The Spaniard was involved heavily throughout, his best moment threading a pass into Jamie Shackleton who could not hand a tap-in to Costa.

But some Leeds fans were impressed with the former Valencia and Swansea man despite the appalling result for a Premier League side – though the majority feel he is the only won to emerge with pass marks.
