Leeds fans discuss Mateusz Klich display after narrow Barnsley win
Leeds United held on to a 1-0 win over Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Thursday evening at Elland Road and all but confirmed their promotion to the Premier League – and Whites fans have reacted to Mateusz Klich’s display.
However, Marcelo Bielsa’s men can count themselves fortunate to have won the match and kept a clean sheet – as Barnsley had a number of chances through the likes of Conor Chaplin, Cauley Woodrow and more.
Leeds had numerous chances themselves and eventually took the lead in the first half when Patrick Bamford’s cut-back was deflected into the back of the Barnsley net by Tykes defender Michael Sollbauer.

It was Klich’s pass that split the Barnsley defence in half to set Bamford through, whose initial cross was blocked.
Marcelo Bielsa’s system, for once, was seemingly flawed. It saw Bielsa change tactics numerous times, even bringing on rookie Pascal Struijk for Jack Harrison – and playing the Dutch defender out of position in midfield.
But it was Klich that was arguably the Whites’ best player – as they secured three of the four points required to secure promotion from their final three games. The £1.5million signing’s passing was excellent throughout.
Leeds supporters reacted on Twitter to Klich’s display and while many were surprised at how easily the Whites were opened up at the back – many applauded the Poland international for his display.
Klich has played well

No one gonna talk about that ball from klich???? 🔥🔥

When klich gets the ball he looks dangerous passing it through to the wingers as Barnsley don’t deal with direct play well.

Klich's been a level above everyone else on the pitch for me. The pressure he gets on the ball leads to them turning ball over so often.
And on the ball, he's having his best game in recent memory. Weight of pass and touch just perfect.
