Leeds fans are unimpressed by Millwall boss Harris’ comments on Marshall’s celebration
Ben Marshall’s celebration was a flashpoint in the weekend’s fiesty encounter between old rivals Leeds United and Millwall, after which the Whites came out 3-2 winners to get back into the Championship’s top two.
But Lions manager Neil Harris has moved to defend his player, saying that he didn’t do anything wrong as Leeds brace themselves for an FA charge because their fans threw missiles at him –
Harris : ““Is it common at Leeds? Do they get away with it? I don’t know. It’s not good in any football ground in any country. Marshy hasn’t left the field of play. He’s nowhere near the byline. He is eight to ten yards inside that.
“It is not acceptable in football grounds. It’s going to take a serious incident for it to happen and I’ve seen my players hit with various objects at the weekend. They are huge clubs. Do they get away with huge calls at this level? I believe so to a certain degree.”

But Harris’ comments have not gone down well with the Leeds United fans, who of course still remember the heavy punishment that came their way in the wake of the ‘Spygate’ scandal earlier on in the season.
It’s fair to say that Millwall’s own disciplinary record isn’t perfect either and Leeds fans were not shy about pointing that out…

Imagine being manager of Millwall and trying to take the moral high ground 😂

Marshall could easily have celebrated in front of his own fans, who were a few yards away. Instead he chose to goad Leeds supporters.

The man's a living meme

Anyone remember him calling Leeds players a disgrace for celebrating with the bench at their place after we equalised? The rat is a massive hypocrite

Just making excuses for how much of a terrible manager he is

Never seen someone so obsessed with us bless him

Who cares Phil, he's never hidden his hatred of Leeds united as a club and comes across as a bit jealous – will know what his club stands for and there is no love lost between the 2 – lets move on.
