Leeds could reportedly lose key player to Spanish side, and club should let it happen
Leeds United could reportedly lose goalkeeper Kiko Casilla this summer with La Liga giants Sevilla reportedly keen on bringing him back to Spain – just six months after he joined Leeds from Real Madrid.
that Sevilla want to land the 32-year-old stopper, after a difficult spell at Elland Road. Casilla clocked up 19 appearances, managing just six clean sheets – conceding 22 goals.
Casilla is said to be one of the highest earners at Elland Road, considering he joined the club from Real Madrid. But during the second half of last season, he hardly proved his worth.
Indeed, it was his error that sent Derby County on their way to a play-off semi-final victory over Leeds – despite the Whites earning a 1-0 lead in the first leg away from home.

Leeds have Northern Ireland international Bailey Peacock-Farrell as Casilla’s back-up, after a decent spell as the number one choice during the first half of the season. He shone for his country, as he warmed the bench at Leeds.
With the impressive former Middlesbrough youth player chomping at the bit to return between the sticks as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, Leeds should seriously consider offloading Casilla.
Getting rid of the Spain international would free up plenty of wages, and the Whites already have a top-class replacement in 22-year-old Peacock-Farrell. It makes sense to get rid of Casilla this summer.
