Leeds captain Liam Cooper discusses Fulham threat Aleksandar Mitrovic
Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has picked out Fulham’s centre-forward Aleksandar Mitrovic as a key threat ahead of a meeting between the two teams on Saturday.
The Whites travel to Craven Cottage in the Championship and it’s expected to be a tough battle between two teams dreaming of promotion.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side sit second in the league table as it stands and have a strong 10-point cushion inside the automatic spots.
Meanwhile, opponents Fulham are perhaps slightly underachieving considering their squad and they sit sixth in the final play-off spot.
Mitrovic is the outstanding player for the London club that has been in stunning form this campaign.
The Serbia international has scored 16 goals in his 21 league appearances and has the capabilities to bully centre-backs.
But Leeds do boast the best defensive record in the division with just 13 goals conceded in 22 matches, which is why their 3-3 draw with Cardiff City in their last match was a big shock.
“We work every day on ourselves and we know what we need to do to nullify Mitrovic,”
“He’s an unbelievable player, he plays for his country, he’s proven at the level and he scores goals at this level and I think we have got to do everything we can to nullify his attributes and then concentrate on us and how we are going to hurt them.”

TBR’s View:
After losing their last two consecutive games, Fulham will go into the weekend with apprehension and they desperately need a result.
They posses one of the leagues outstanding individual in 25-year-old Mitrovic and he’s a striker that quite frankly should be playing at a higher level.
Leeds are perhaps one of the teams capable of stopping him though with their usual centre-back pairing of Liam Cooper and Ben White, who have not got much wrong this season when playing together.
