Leeds blow as Dan James says he is in talks to sign Swansea contract
that he is still in contract talks with Swansea City over a new deal, which could prove to be a blow for Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old winger came very close to joining Leeds in the January transfer window. However, in the dying moments, Swansea chose not to answer calls from Marcelo Bielsa’s side despite James undergoing a medical.
that Leeds are likely to be interested in James in the summer after the Swans pulled the plug on a £10million deal. But they are expected to be alongside Premier League teams in their interest.
Asked about his future and a potential Swansea exit, James stated he remains in contract talks with Swansea and is expected to finally put pen to paper on a new deal. His current contract expires in the summer of 2020.

“That’s still underway,” James said when asked about Swansea contract talks. “It’s about concentrating on the football for me.
“This time last season I wasn’t playing first-team football, but it’s something that can happen. If you get your opportunity you can take it and now it’s a case of ‘can I do more?’”
TBR’s view
James would be an excellent addition for Leeds, and he showed just that with his first start for Wales on the weekend. He scored the only goal of the game – smashing home an effort from 20 yards.
But the chances of Leeds signing James now look unlikely. Though James looks like a top player, his heart seems set on Swansea and the Whites may have to keep tabs on the star, rather than submitting concrete interest.
