Report: ‘Electric’ £15m man Leeds and Everton want is now set for a move elsewhere

Leeds and Everton could both be about to miss out on the signing of Bamba Dieng from Marseille, with reports claiming Nice are now favourites for him.

Reports in recent days have suggested that Marseille are ready to part ways with Dieng if a club meets the £15m asking price. It’s claimed that clubs like Leeds, Everton, and Newcastle have all looked at Dieng, while the likes of Celtic and – unsurprisingly – Nottingham Forest are also said to be keen.

However, a report from French outlet has claimed that despite the heavy Premier League interest, it is actually Ligue 1 outfit Nice who are in pole position to sign Dieng.

Dieng has enjoyed a fine last 12 months and scored eight goals last term. However, it was his overall performances which impressed the most, with Marseille benefitting from his pace and power across the entire front line.

Both Leeds and Everton endured disappointment in the Premier League this afternoon. The Toffees lost to Aston Villa while Leeds threw away a two-goal lead at Southampton to only come away with a point from the south coast.

News of Dieng potentially signing for Nice, then, will be another blow on a miserable Saturday for the pair.

TBR’s View: Leeds And Everton Will Be Disappointed In Dieng News

They’ve both dropped points on a PL Saturday and now it appears Everton and Leeds won’t be getting a much needed striker in either.

Dieng would have been an excellent addition for the Whites and the Toffees, with his pace and power up top something that could have made a real difference for either side.

However, it looks like it’s not meant to be when it comes to Bamba Dieng and Marsch and Lampard will have to turn their attentions elsewhere it seems.
