Gray has been highlighted as an academy star for some years and has been on Premier League benches in the past.

He was making remarkable progress during Jesse Marsch’s stay but was set-back by a freak injury.

Now fit again, Gray started in Leeds’ dramatic opening draw against Cardiff last weekend.

Not only did Gray impress, he now looks cemented in the starting team for the foreseeable.

And as a result, Leeds now have Gray’s name on a they would happily tie down for longer.

Archie Gray’s current at Leeds runs until the summer of and such is his potential, you can see why extension thoughts are already in place.

Leeds will surely be very keen to protect their asset and also protect a player who could become crucial to their Championship efforts.

It’s not surprising to see Gray faring so well in the first team already given how well he did in younger categories.

Gray was always playing beyond his years and his willingness to receive the ball and take responsibility against Cardiff just illustrated how far he’s come.

Leed’s track record of selling players has been fairly abysmal of late.

The club are not receiving prices anywhere close to what they’ve paid for a number of stars.

And whilst no Leeds fans will even want to consider the sale of Archie Gray any time soon, they will want their club to protect their stance.

If Gray does leave Leeds in one or two years time it will need to be for a considerable fee, and not owing to an expiring contract.

Leeds have a real gem on their hands, and it’s no surprise that they’re willing to plan with him for the long-term.
