Lee Dixon sums up how Arsenal fans are feeling after Olympiacos defeat
Lee Dixon has hammered Arsenal on Twitter after they conceded a last-minute goal and crashed out of the Europa League to Greek side Olympiacos just moments after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked as though he had put the Gunners through.
With a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, Arsenal were big favourites. But after 90 minutes, the north Londoners were 1-0 down. Centre-back Pape Abou Cisse scored a header from Mathieu Valbuena’s corner on 53 minutes.
The tie sparked into life in the final 10 minutes of extra-time. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a stunning overhead kick to put Arsenal 2-1 up on aggregate but Olympiacos were not done there, and broke Arsenal hearts in the 119th minute.
Giorgas Masourasstunning cross came into the box, after Bernd Leno conceded a cheap cross, and Youssef El-Arabi slid the ball into the net. Aubameyang had a sitter in injury time, but inexplicably put the ball wide. Dixon reacted on Twitter.
Just friggin defend the friggin big white net thing behind you!!!!!

The Gunners, then, have been knocked out of Europe despite being one of the favourites to win the tournament after reaching last season’s final. Wolves, Manchester United and Rangers have all progressed, while Celtic were also knocked out.
Arsenal will be looking to put things right next Monday, as they travel to Fratton Park to take on League One side Portsmouth in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
