Leading the line for Everton would be a difficult step up for Birmingham’s Adams
Everton are tracking Birmingham City top scorer Che Adams with the potential for a transfer in the summer,
They that the Blues will allow Adams – who has 19 goals to his name so far this season – to leave St Andrew’s during the summer window.
That has caught the attention of a host of Premier League clubs and Everton are among them, having watched the striker in recent weeks.
Birmingham will demand £20m for Adams, but that is a fee that free-spending Everton should be able to match.

There’s no doubt that Everton need a reliable striker and if they can get one for £20m, that represents decent value in the current market.
But it would be a huge jump up for Adams to make, and asking him to replicate the form of his life from this season in the Championship while adjusting to life at a team who want to be ambitious within the Premier League.
Cenk Tosun’s struggles and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s inexperience mean that there’s a chance Adams could be thrust centre stage at Goodison Park, and it would be a big ask for him to take on the mantle and perform.
But Adams has adjusted well at every level of his rapid rise since 2014 and the Toffees would have to hope he could do so again in the top flight.
