Lawrence Shankland is better suited to Celtic above Rangers, according to Craig Beattie

“Celtic need a striker,” . “I think he’s good enough for Celtic. I think he suits Celtic’s style more than Rangers. The way [Alfredo] Morelos plays, he creates a lot of the chances and makes a lot of the goals himself.

“Whereas Celtic are more creative in the final third with their wide players. I think he would be more suited and think he could quite easily come into Celtic and do a job there.”

Odsonne Edouard is a superb striker and one that is more than adept at playing in the best leagues in Europe. But other than the young Frenchman, Celtic have little else to offer up front.

Vakoun Bayo is nowhere near the success that Celtic fans had hoped he would be, while it remains to be seen whether Leigh Griffiths will make an impact this term. The Hoops need Shankland more than Rangers.
