Lafferty’s Rangers return was never a good idea – it’s no surprise Gerrard wants him out
Steven Gerrard wants to offload Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty this summer amid interest from Limassol,
They that the team from Cyprus are keen on the Northern Irish maverick despite a disappointing season at Rangers upon his return to Ibrox.
The also says that Gerrard would love to have Lafferty’s wages off the bill in order to help fund a further reshape of his Gers squad with designs on closing the gap to Celtic.
Lafferty has just one year left on that Ibrox contract, so this summer represents Rangers only real chance to get any money back for the striker.

In truth, Lafferty’s return to Ibrox never looked like a good idea. He is a player who walks to the beat of his own drum, coming towards the twilight of his career and was always going to play second fiddle to Alfredo Morelos.
Lafferty can be a talisman if he’s the main player but as just another in a squad, he’s not the same and it’s best for Gerrard to get him off the books in order to get in a younger, hungrier, quicker forward through the door.
This was an experiment that’s not worked out – rather predictably – for Gerrard.
