Kyle Lafferty says Rangers have a ‘one of a kind’ player who’s been getting better and better
Glasgow Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has been praised by Kyle Lafferty, who believes the 36-year-old Ibrox star could play into his forties.
Davis’ place in the Rangers history books has been cemented thanks to his incredible service for the Ibrox club, and he’s showing no signs of stopping either.
The Northern Irishman has enjoyed two fruitful stints at Rangers, clocking up over 300 competitive senior appearances for the club.

In 2019, with Rangers back in the Scottish Premiership, Davis rejoined the Ibrox side – initially on loan, before signing permanently.
This season, he has made 47 appearances for the Light Blues in all competitions, including 30 in the Premiership, and has helped Steven Gerrard’s side to title number 55.
Davis has been nominated for the Scottish Football Writers Association Player of the Year prize this term, and Lafferty isn’t surprised by how well his former teammate is doing.
“Shocked? Probably not because he’s up there in the top two or three of the best players I’ve ever played with,” the Kilmarnock man told the .
“He’s got better as he’s got older, crazy as it sounds. He’s dictating games against top-class players in the Europa League and doing it every week in the Premiership.
“He’s running around like a 25-year-old making his debut. He could easily play until he’s 40.
“He put in another ten-star performance against Celtic at the weekend. I don’t want to say he’s abnormal but he’s one of a kind.”
TBR View:
Davis is a Rangers and Northern Ireland legend and, luckily for the Ibrox camp, he’s signed up for another season with the famous club.
So many peers have lauded the veteran midfielder for his quality and longevity – hopefully he can help the Gers to more silverware in the coming years.
