Kyle Lafferty has a point to prove for Rangers against Hearts

When Kyle Lafferty left Hearts for Rangers in the summer, it seems hard to imagine that he was expecting his former side to be leading the league table whilst his new club struggled in mid-table.

The 31-year-old does boast European football at Ibrox, where he is shining as his team exceed expectations, but will feel he has a point to prove when Craig Levein brings his former team to Glasgow.

Despite his team’s struggles in domestic competitions, the Northern Irishman has excelled on a personal level, notching four goals in eight games.

Up against his former club, he will have the chance to add to that tally and build on his latest effort against Villarreal in the Europa League.

It would also go some ways to making amends for the woeful defeat to Livingston last weekend which saw his team fall to yet another defeat, in which he was hooked early on in the second half and replaced by Glenn Middleton.

Lafferty thrives under pressure and with the crowds against him and there will never be a better example than up against Hearts.
