Kyle Lafferty backs ‘fantastic’ Ianis Hagi to become Rangers legend

Speaking to journalists from Romania, he was quizzed on Hagi and he believes Rangers must do whatever it takes to keep him at Ibrox.

“When you play for a big team like Rangers, the pressure is huge. Fans expect you to give it your all on the field whether you play Celtic or a relegation team.

“I saw quality in Ianis Hagi. He had some problems at one point with an injury, but now things have settled down I can say he’s fantastic!

“He is a player who will mark the history of Rangers in the coming years and if he’s not transferred to another team, he has the potential to become a club legend.”

TBR View: Hagi has come of age this season but there is still work to do

The 22-year-old has been in really good form this season and the challenge moving forward is to gain even more consistency.

At the start of the campaign he struggled to get going a little bit and his flashes of brilliance came sporadically.

He has claimed five goals and registered 11 assists in Steven Gerrard’s team and has been a regular in the team.

Hagi earns at Ibrox and is one of the club’s highest-earning players.

He’s enjoyed a decent campaign but there is, even more, to come from him next season and he could relish playing in the Champions League for the Gers.
