Kurt Zouma hails unbelievable Everton teammate Idrissa Gueye

Everton loanee Kurt Zouma has admitted he is blown away by the quality of his teammate Idrissa Gueye at Goodison Park.

Gueye is a no-nonsense enforcer that is a crucial player in Marco Silva’s team and moved to the Merseyside club for £7.1million () in 2016.

The 29-year-old is a defensive midfielder that sits in front of the back four breaking up play and sniffing out attacks.

Zouma has played alongside several talented players at parent club Chelsea, but has singled out current teammate Gueye for his qualities and impact.

“We are very happy to have him (Gueye) because the work he is doing in midfield is just unbelievable,”

“Every single game, he is doing the same thing – he is running everywhere, tackling everywhere, recovering balls, passing well.

“Everything comes with confidence. I think he is playing more forward now and we all know Gana has quality, with the ball and without the ball.”

TBR’s View:

Gueye really is when of the best in the business at what he does and Everton would find it very difficult to replace his void if he left.

The Senegal international is an unsung hero in the heart of midfield that has looked a rock once again under Silva and his £7million capture from Aston Villa has turned out to be a masterstroke.

He’s formed quite the understanding alongside Andre Gomes this campaign and the combination has a great balance of attack and defence.

Everton have six league games remaining and an outside bet of climbing to seventh, but it’s likely they will need to win most of their fixtures and no doubt Gueye will be key to any success.
