Kulusevski says Spurs star is one of the world’s most underrated players

Dejan Kulusevki that Rodrigo Bentancur is one of the most underrated players in the world following his brace for Tottenham Hotspur in their dramatic win on Saturday.

Antonio Conte’s men go into the World Cup on a high after a seven-goal thriller at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With 10 minutes remaining, Spurs were 3-2 down after going behind for a third time that afternoon.

However, Bentancur was able to step up on two occasions to earn Tottenham the three points. The Uruguayan scored twice in two minutes to break Leeds hearts.

Bentancur one of the world’s most underrated players

Kulusevski’s performance on his return to the starting lineup was huge for Spurs. The Sweden international was absolutely electric at times. However, the 22-year-old insisted that one of his teammates deserves a lot more credit following his performance.

“When we were 3-3, then I said in my head next time I get the ball, I’m going to shoot and I’m going to score. But then, it was a different situation and I see Rodri alone and I just pray to God that he would score,” .

“And then he did. He’s a fantastic player, one of the most underrated players in the world. And I’m very happy for him and wish him all the best for his World Cup.”

It is remarkable to see just how inspired a signing Bentancur has proved to be. It is probably fair to say that Tottenham fans were not particularly excited when he arrived in January.

The 25-year-old is a good player. However, it seemed slightly concerning that he was arriving right at the end of the window with Juventus happy to let him go.

But it has been a game-changer for Spurs. His consistency has been outstanding. And he has stepped up with a number of big moments for Conte’s men over the last 12 months.

Tottenham still have plenty of work to do during the rest of the season. But given that they still find themselves in the top four and through in the Champions League, they are clearly going to be a major force if everything clicks.
