Kris Boyd claims £8m-rated midfielder linked with Leeds could leave Rangers

that Glen Kamara could leave Rangers in the January transfer window in order to balance the books amid reported interest from Premier League clubs and Championship side Leeds United.

Kamara, 24, joined Rangers in January for a measly £50,000 from Dundee, after the ex-Arsenal star entered the final six months of his contract. He has since shone under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, even impressing in the Europa League.

that the Finland international is being targeted by Leeds, as well as top-flight trio Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Brighton. It is believed a fee of £8million would see Rangers let him leave.

that Rangers have announced losses of £11.3million and ex-Rangers man Boyd reckons Kamara could be sold in the winter window to make up for that loss – which will surely put Leeds and other interested parties on red alert.

“Glen Kamara continues to look like a steal at £50,000, although reading between the lines it looks like he could be the player who gets sold in January,” . “Going by their financial results, someone will be shown the door.

“And given how top heavy Gerrard is with midfield players, Kamara is the one who has a market value. One thing is for sure, Alfredo Morelos is going nowhere.”

TBR’s view – Would Kamara be a good signing for Leeds?

Kamara has shown in his short time at Ibrox that he as an excellent array of passing and vision, but is also very hard-working off the ball and is able to read the game quicker than his opponents. In possession, he is excellent.

At £8million, he is somewhat expensive. It must also be considered whether Leeds actually need the 13-time international. Kalvin Phillips has signed a new deal, while Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw and Jamie Shackleton are all high in the pecking order.

There is no doubt that Kamara would be a good signing, but Leeds do not desperately need the Rangers ace.
