‘Knocking on the first team’: Some West Ham fans want goalscoring 19-year-old fast-tracked
A number of West Ham United fans have been raving about Harrison Ashby following his latest heroics for the Hammers at age level.
The 19-year-old right-back has been a fixture in West Ham’s academy sides since the 2017-18 season.
Ashby has made this season, registering four goals and six assists – impressive stats for a full-back.

On Tuesday, West Ham Under-21s were in Papa John’s Trophy action away at Gillingham.
And Ashby opened the scoring for Dimitri Halajko’s side in the 22nd minute, guiding a precise effort into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
It was the this season that the teenager had recorded a goal and assist in the same game.
Thierry Nevers then doubled the Hammers’ lead 11 minutes later, taking the ball around the Gills keeper and slotting into the empty goal.
The East Londoners pretty much controlled proceedings from start to finish, and their opponents didn’t look like getting back into the game.
Here is what some West Ham fans said about Ashby’s display in Kent:
