Kinnear reckons Leeds boss Bielsa the only Premier League manager to one thing this summer

that he reckons Marcelo Bielsa is the only Premier League manager to remain working this summer. The Argentine gaffer was expected to return to his home country. But he has stayed at Leeds – and Kinnear thinks he is the only one to do so.

Bielsa, 65, decided to remain in Yorkshire this summer despite having the chance to return to his home nation. Leeds are planning to avoid a slip in their second season back in the Premier League – which Sheffield United struggled with. Wolves have also stuttered in their third season back.

Speaking about Bielsa’s contract situation, which still remains unsigned, Kinnear reassured fans that it is just a “formality”. He underlined Bielsa’s commitment to Leeds by claiming that he might be the only Premier League manager to continue working throughout the summer.

“Marcelo decided not to go back to Argentina this summer,” “Some of his coaching staff have. He wanted to prepare, he wanted to work with Victor and I on the transfer window and to oversee the training ground work. I have no doubt of his commitment.

“Putting pen to paper is an irrelevance to Marcelo. He is very much with Leeds United. I’m not sure there is any other manager who is not taking any time off, not leaving the training ground. That shows his commitment. I’m treating his contract as a formality.”

Bielsa will sign with Leeds as Kinnear says, the best deal of the summer

Last season, there were issues with how late Bielsa renewed his Leeds stay. Premier League ruled determined that a manager needed to be in place by a certain date – before the 4-3 loss to Liverpool. Leeds and Bielsa left it so late that they were almost in danger of not having Bielsa in the dugout.

It shows just how little care Bielsa places on a contract. He sees himself at Leeds and signing a piece of paper, just does not matter to him. His commitment and diligence in staying at the club throughout the summer is further proof for Leeds fans that he is deserves iconic status.
